Good scale and detail. I'm generally tired of "space warship", but yours have such a sense of "tech cred" to them I can't help but be drawn to and excited by them.
One of the major changes was having all the Somtaaw ships based on Taiidan vessels instead of Kushan ones. Another was removing all the special functions from the player fleet because I enjoyed ships with turrets and weapons instead of a special function embodied in a ship.
You could indirectly thank Aaron Kambeitz for the styling since he's the artist who made the Taiidan. Rob C's Vaygr also influenced the Cata2nd Somtaaw heavily as well.
And I love art that inspires me!
have you picked a color scheme for them yet?
you say this is a light corvette?
so i was curious if you are adding a turret or keeping the, i think they are 4 forward cannons
So I think that the fins look a bit large and out of place there, maybe if you chose to shrink and flare them back a bit they'd mesh better with the Vaygr chassis.
The horn-fin thing there on the nose suffers the same problem, but just bring the vertical down a little bit and it'll look fine.
The ship seems a bit long, making it look more like a frigate (to me) than a corvette. cut out the area in between the airlock (or whatever the orange outlined box is) and the gray strip in front of the wing section and I think it would match the class better. You'd probably have to slim/streamline the stern section though to reduce the visual weight that it would have.
But you've got the overall design nailed though, just needs some fine tuning and tweaking. Is the white missile looking thing a spoofer package or an actual missile?
That's a sensor array. The description for that other light corvette on the forum also applies here- Somtaaw re-purposed the LC as a light raider/heavy scout. It's faster than the original Taiid LC and better armed.
