Homeworld strategy game Map by Norsehound Homeworld strategy game Map by Norsehound
A long while ago I wanted to make a hex-and-counter strategy game based on Homeworld and using my Homeworld map version 1 as a base. I have a work-in-progress version here in my gallery, but this was the completed one.

Ultimately a black and white version was printed and laminted when I was at college, but the game never really took off. If I ever try again with a Homeworld strat game I want to do something simpler and less crunchy like older Wargames.

Hi, first of all I really like your work.
Secondly, can you post or send me the tokens you used for the Homeworld wargame, I'd really like to try it since I'm both an oldschool-wargame- and a homeworld-fan.

Even if you didn't get to quite finish it off, the game mechanisms were still really good and quite enjoyable... moving around the little counters was annoying, that may have been because I printed them onto paper. It would be good to see a 3D version of this map some day, on something like astrosynth maybe.

An Homeworld wargame would be so sweet to see. :)

Combine that with the RTS gameplay of a particular hexagon on this map and the game is complete. :) (Smile)

And, make sure you look at this chart: monguin.deviantart.com/art/Rel…

The chart is also connected with Dungeons and Dragons, and I imagined a "what if" statement of two futuristic armadas fighting over a primitive planet, almost literally, even our own planet at the time of the Pyramids.

One of the examples I came up with is StarCraft meets Warcraft where Azeroth, aka, the World of Warcraft, gets divided between three colonies, being Terran, Zerg, and Protoss.

It would be awesome. Have you ever tried to make something like that?

That sounds quite cool of a concept. I think it could be made into an interesting background for the game referenced above. ;P

I had referenced it as a matter of fact.

This is the first episode I wrote featuring that: monguin.deviantart.com/art/Did…

I recommend you check out the previous episodes as well. And it's a comedy that makes fun of Assassin's Creed by replacing the Assassins with, well, the adorable but yet incredibly random and awkward monkey-penguin duo and historical settings like Renaissance Italy or Jerusalem during the Crusades with ideas like I described to you.

The structure might be used for my future episodes, however.

Ah, now I see.

That sounds insane as hell. In a good way. :D

I'd love to see a Homeworld wargame! :) I'm still following your HW art...
