Somtaaw Space Truck

One of the first designs conceived by the emergent Somtaaw was to redesign the standard resource collector. Although the collector was fine as it was, as a Mining Kiith Somtaaw wanted to get more mileage out of what little designs they had on-hand. The envisioned result would be something that could harvest rocks, repair capital vehicles, tow payloads, and salvage derelicts.

The final solution involved modifying the 'cab' portion of the original Taiidan harvester. The original design, after all, was a cab portion that towed a standardized container.

aside from refitting the engines to swivel 360 degrees, and replacing the joining bracket with a modified grappling unit from the salvage corvette, the entire resource collection unit was overhauled. The standard 'green beam' collection method was discarded for an analog system of mining- giving the Truck the dual ability of harvesting rock and repairing ship damage.

The final product was satisfying enough for the leaders of Somtaaw, and proved to be incredibly versatile in the field.
